UNESCO-listed sea views and plush facilities at a stunning spa hotel among the hills of north-eastern Crete - includes breakfast, optional dinner, a massage, and more

  • Jaw-dropping views: From your perch among the hills, you’ll have beautiful views over the sparkling waters of the Aegean and the UNESCO-listed island of Spinalonga, a speck of sun-beaten rock wreathed in mythical tales.

  • Local cuisine: The hotel is home to a vast array of top-notch facilities, from the five excellent restaurants to the three outdoor swimming pools and spa. Each day begins with a plate of Greek delicacies and buffet favourites, while the evening brings sumptuous local dishes made with flair and local ingredients.

  • Beach idyll: The hotel also benefits from its own spot on the Municipal Plaka pebble beach, with a shuttle to deliver you to the shore in comfort. Relax on the sun loungers as the cool sea breezes caress your skin - from here it’s just a short boat ride to the island of Spinalonga, a former leper colony where you can wander the streets and view the dramatic Venetian architecture.

How to get there

The resort is situated on Crete’s northern coast, in the traditional fishing village of Plaka, close to the seafront promenade. It’s a short drive from the National Road giving access to the rest of the island; Heraklion Airport is approximately 63 kilometres away, while Chania is 210 kilometres on the northwest coast. Hiring a car gives you the best way to explore this fabulous island.
Good to know
Please note, the beach shuttle runs from 10am to 7pm. Please check directly with the hotel for more information.

Entry requirements

The passport, visa and health requirements at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for UK citizens, and on the Department of Foreign Affairs website for IE citizens. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration/entry requirements before you travel, including whether your passport must be machine readable or which visas/waivers may be required for entry, such as ESTA for USA travel and/or ETIAS for EU travel. Please also be sure to check the validity of your passport and allow up to 10 weeks for passport renewals.

Crete

The charming little village of Plaka faces the spectacular Bay of Mirabello, including the rocky island of Spinalonga. It’s the perfect spot if you want to get away from it all, but still have the option of day trips to some of the island’s northern sights.

Agios Nikolaos is a short way to the east with its pretty harbour, while the capital of Heraklion is to the west. The village is close to National Road, which links east and west Crete – hop on and you could whizz to the spectacularly unspoilt beaches of the far west, or even the lively resorts of Malia or Hersonissos.
