Dreamy design: Named after its proximity to Figueira Square (one of Lisbon’s largest and best known), Figueira Beautique Hotel promises style and serenity to all who visit. Nini Andrade Silva, the award-winning Portuguese interior designer, has all but guaranteed the former, with her lavish interiors, earthy hues and naturally-inspired décor.
-
Traditionally Portuguese food: Hearty breakfasts and delicious dinners can be found at Restaurant & Bar Figu’s, an authentic eatery that benefits from prime views of Figueira Square. The restaurant produces traditional Portuguese cuisine with fresh and regional ingredients, best accompanied with a glass of local wine from the full and eclectic list. Speaking of drinks, the hotel’s bar makes for the perfect place to enjoy a cheeky cocktail in the afternoon, or your favourite tipple in the evening.

Fantastic location: Your unrivalled position in the city centre means Lisbon really is yours for the taking. To take in the beauty of the city, plan a trip to the top of the Cristo Rei, a magnificent statue which stands over 100 metres tall on the opposite bank of the Tejo River from Lisbon and offers stunning views over the city. The impressive national art collection at the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga is an absolute must for culture vultures. For those after something more alternative, most of the Lisbon Metro operates as a free art gallery exhibiting works by contemporary artists inspired by the are surrounding the various stations.
How to get there
Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport is an easy 25-minute taxi ride from the hotel. Alternatively, you can take the Metro, getting on the Vm Line from the airport to Alameda (nine stops), where you need to change and get the Vd Line to Rossio (five stops); from here it’s a one-minute walk to the hotel.

Lisbon
A city of grandeur and romance, buzzing nightlife and a world-renowned gastronomic culture, Lisbon never fails to enchant. With centuries of history, you can find an array of impressive landmarks across the capital, from the dramatic site of the São Jorge Castle, looking down from the hilltops, to Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage site that once protected Portugal’s coastline. Art lovers will revel in the city’s many treasures, including the Azulejo Museum, housed in a former convent, and MAAT - the futuristic home of Lisbon’s best contemporary art.
With endless discoveries at every corner, it’s worth exploring the many winding city streets, and of course, Lisbon’s famous tram lines. Stop over at local restaurants and bars to savour the mouth-watering delicacies, and indulge in the city’s most famous dessert - the rich and creamy pastel de nata, found in all shapes, sizes and flavours across Lisbon’s bakeries and cafes.
